Location/Description : Villa Melina is located in Pedalino (Comiso), in the countryside of Ragusa. The Villa is
a bio-dynamic farm located in the hyblean countryside, was founded in 1764 by the Mangione’s family and since 2014 is managed by Raul and Jessica. Their dream was to live in the countryside, so few years ago they decided to quit their jobs and to develop a self-contained farm. Their project was to produce a mixed orchard only with seasonal vegetables in wide-ranging, to create a grain field to produce flour and to nourish the farming of Sicilian animals they developed and purchase all the obtained products like fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat. This successful project become quickly interesting especially for those restaurants and shops promoting the use of local products and the idea of Km0. Villa Melina organizes also school guided tours to let know a new way to make agriculture, a natural way to produce without pesticides.

Originality: Villa Melina is a 19th century mansion converted into a biodynamic agri-business, healthy food, raise animals and manufacture tasty products are selling directly to the customers.
