Nice, the capital of the French Riviera

Lying on the shore of the Mediterranean and only a few kilometers away from the Italian border, Nice is the capital of the Côte d’Azur and it perfectly represents the typical French art-de-vivre of the southern towns.

Nice is a breakfast on a sunny terrace, a stroll through the alleyways in the old town, and a colorful and lively market. Nice is also enjoying a lunch sitting on a terrace or on the beach, doing some shopping in one of its prestigious boutiques, diving in the crystal-clear water of the Mediterranean, discovering gardens and museums, enjoying  a drink on the Cours Saleya, having dinner in a typical local restaurant or treating oneself in a gastronomic one. Nice is listening to a concert at the Opera or spending an evening at the Casino. Nice is all of this and a lot more !

The center of Nice is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, encompassing an urban area of 522 hectares which includes the famous Promenade des Anglais,  the bourgeois and tree-lined districts of Cimiez and Mont Boron, the magnificent villas and charming hotels scattered around its districts, the local and exotic greenery as well as the urban planning and architecture that have shaped the city through two and a half centuries of tourist activity.

Hiking enthusiasts can take the coastal path or follow the signs of the new long-distance hiking trail  “Lou Camin Nissart”, a 42 km route through vineyards, forests and olive groves. Urban walkers can follow one of the 9 discovery loops with 150 km of paths, stairs and secret passages to discover the city’s treasures at their own pace.

Finally, Nice is located at the gateway to an exceptional 100% natural playground! The surrounding mountains offer varied landscapes and an infinite range of activities. Walking, mountain biking, horse riding, skiing and dog sledding in winter… Nice Côte d’Azur is spectacular in every way!
